LIBERTY STATION BAND REVIEW & COMMUNITY FESTIVAL
“A SALUTE TO VETERANS”
November 11, 2017 (Veteran’s Day Weekend)
The Parade Band Foundation, Inc. will host its 8th annual event with primary support from Liberty Station, Bertrand’s Music, and the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors. Over a dozen Marching Bands will compete for prizes, awards & highest scores as part of the Band Review along Historic Decatur Road in Liberty Station. The family oriented event is complete with a Community Festival at Ingram Park (inside Liberty Station). The marching Band Review will take place from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., followed by the Community Festival from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.
- The Band Review will take place on Historic Decatur Road, between Womble Road and Dewey Road, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 (noon).
- The Community Festival at Ingram Park, located inside Liberty Station, at 2629 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego, CA 92106 will be from 12:00 (noon) – 4:00 P.M.
As the largest FREE Community event of its kind in San Diego County, and top five largest in Southern California, this Annual event draws thousands of scholastic Music participants from throughout the San Diego, Imperial, Orange & Los Angeles Counties. Many of these out-of-area groups stay in local hotels to participate in the event, dine at local restaurants, and shop at local businesses.
This unique event features a Free Community Festival comprised of businesses, non-profit groups, clubs, and other community organizations, attracting community members to this family-oriented event showcasing beautiful Historic Liberty Station, and San Diego’s talents with live music, dancers, and artists.
The event not only celebrates and recognizes incredible Marching Bands and Community groups, but honors and Salutes the many Veterans, and their families who call San Diego their home.
GRAND MARSHAL – Lieutenant Commander, Robert Brown
Lieutenant Commander, Robert Brown was born September 23, 1917 and is now 100 years old. Lt. Commander Brown is here today as our 2017 Grand Marshall and is joined by one of his daughter’s, Sally Holmen, to help celebrate the Parade Band Foundation’s tribute to the many Military personnel who have served, and to the current Military, and their families who continue to serve & sacrifice for our Country.
